Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 “date picture taken”

I have no problem changing the “date picture taken” on pictures from cameras or my film scanner, but Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 won’t let me change the “date picture taken” on print photos that I scan with my HP Officejet Pro L7580 (an “all-in-one” printer, fax, scanner). More accurately, I can change the date using the “adjust date created” button, but the date isn’t actually changed.

Thanks for any ideas you might have on solving this.

I downloaded Microsoft Pro Photo Tools and it was able to change the EXIF data. (Microsoft free software does what Corel's paid for software can't!)
