Reinstalling VS X3

Post by GeorgeC »

Hello,
Please excuse me for posting this as a new topic (I did post elsewhere but received no replies).

I need to reinstall VS X3 to ensure my "Country" setting is correct. I followed the KB article on the Corel web site but it refers to deleting "Corel VideoStudio Pro X3" This does not appear. I have these and should I delete all of these prior to a reinstall?

(All Users) Contents [1.6.2.36]
(All Users) Corel DVD MovieFactory [7.0.0]
(All Users) Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 Title Pack [1.00.0000]
(All Users) Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 Title Pack [1.00.0000]
(All Users) Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 Title Pack [1.00.0000]
(All Users) Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 Title Pack [1.00.0000]
and near the bottom of the list -
(All Users) VS Classic [1.6.2.36]
(All Users) VS Pro [1.6.2.36]

I'm reluctant to go any further until I know what to delete?

Thanks,
George
Regards,
George

Hi George

The instructions from the corel site assume you have problems with the software and go through a full/clean. Uninstall.

You only need to uninstall the product from the Control Panel / Add and Remove programs option (I think its called.)

You do not need to search or delete any further files.

Simply reinstall the program, look carefully for the Pal/Ntsc Country option, otherwise the program will install as Ntsc

At least that’s how it works for X2, worth giving the easy path a go first.

Reinstalling and selecting the right country (Australia in my case) gave me the PAL options that weren't there before. Thanks again to Trevor and others who replied.

Hi Trevor,
Although I should have backed up/copied all the Get_More*.exe files to another folder before uninstalling as I had to download them all again :(

Thanks again for your help.
