MF4 Recording Speed Part 2

Something strange is going on. In my earlier thread I was complaining that MF4 can only burn DVD at max 4X when using 8X media on a 16X drive while VideoStudio 8 can burn at 8X. I did not use MF4 for 2 weeks until yesterday I have a short video to burn - only 1.5Gb. I was very surprised to find that MF4 can burn at 8X now. I did another bigger video & it still can burn at 8X. Furthermore I can use all my 3 DVDRW in MF4 - previously it can recognise only one drive.
It seems that something in VS8 trigger all these but I don't know what.
