Saving Preferences

Several users have been unsure where to post issues relating to the copy of MovieFactory 7 SE now supplied with VideoStudio X3. To make life easier you can post problems here.

Saving Preferences

Post by Will_cain »

I've just started using X3 Videostudio and am really impressed with it compared with X2. However, and having looked in the forum it appears that Corel forgot that people might actually want to write DVDs out hence the mishmash of authorising solutions. I've struggled along and decided that the Movie Factory SE is the way forward in spite of it not having any real links to Video studio and losing all the Chapter marks etc but one thing I can't solve is how to get it to save my Preferences. The one I'm particularly interested in is defaulting to PAL. Surely this can be done? Please can someone give me a clue

Cheers

PS I would have stuck with the builtin app if I could write out to a hard drive folder, an option that Corel strangely has removed

When installing you're asked the country you live in, AND/OR if you want PAL or NTSC. That is where you set the default. To correct that you will need to reinstall it.

DVD Factory 2010 does have the option to writing out to harddrive, it's called Creating video folders, and is found in the Settings menu.

I did the UK bit and PAL on install. Strangely it's now started remembering it, so the problems gone away.

Going back to Video Factory... I can't see a Settings tag in there let alone one for Video Folders. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I've done searches in the Help for video folders and nothing has appeared
Thanks for the help.

Going back to Video Factory.
You're confusing me here...;), Is it DVD Factory, DVD MovieFactory, or VideoStudio? The screenshot is from DVD Factory, that comes originally with VS X3. It shows where you can create Video (DVD) folders.

With DVD MovieFactory 7SE, on the final screen where you burn to disc, there is a double-arrow to the right, click it. It will then open up the choices to Create DVD folders, and ISO files.

With VideoStudio X3 there is no option to create DVD folders, as it does not have the burn module as all the previous versions.
