installed PSPX2 ULT in Win 7PC NEW POST JUNE 7/11

Post by Lorraine »

installed PSPX2 ULT in Windows 7PC TODAY'S MESSAGE, june 7,2011 scroll down Posts to end, probably, please. :)

Was I supposed to ask for permission to install PSPP X2 Ultimate on this Windows 7 computer?

I installed it the other night and I tried to download a patch for it, well I thought it said PSP X2
and the update I think was 12.01 I have never updated this version before.

A window popped up and said it couldn't find PSP X2 in my PC and then another said it wasn't compatible
so it didn't download the patch.

Then I was reading the License agreement and it seems like it is only for trial, although I didn't read everything.

I have the CD and installed it with the Promo Code, PSPP X2 number which is on the envelope holding the CD
Also used the Painter Photo Essentials 4 ENGLISH Then the same with MediaOne Plus 2 English

Do I need something else to say I am not using it on any other computer? I'm not.
Altho' it is still installed on my XP, but I don't know how to get into it to even retrieve my Stats or photos and some
tutoroials which I would like to use. I don't intend to use the XP PC as it gave me enough problems before.
thanks anyone who can help me with this problem.

Lorraine,
I switched PSPX2 Ult to my new Win 7 computer with no problems.
Only thing I can think for you to try is going to- Control Panel-open the 'Programs' heading -under that heading, the top heading 'Programs and Features heading has a sub link- 'run programs made for previous versions of windows'
Click on that and it will bring up a dialoge box that says 'Program Compatabilty' click the -next button and follow the prompts to the list of programs and highlight PSPX2, hit next- and set it to run in winXP service pac 2 mode. You will get a dialogue box that asks to test it in the recommended settings or troubleshoot. try the first option and if that doesn't work try the troubleshooter.
You may get another dialogue box that asks if you want windows to allow the program to make changes to your computer(you have to be signed in as an administrator).click yes.
Hope this works for you

The original version of X2 was 12.00. There was a patch for that which was the 12.01 patch that you downloaded.
X2 Ultimate is version 12.50. It is not the same as the original, 12.00 version and the 12.01 patch is not for it.
There is no patch to convert the original 12.00 version of PSPP X2 to X2 Ultimate (12.50). There was a cheap update price for existing 12.00 owners to update to 12.50, but that ceased to be available when X3 was released last January.

Thank you Tim, I didn't know their was a difference in the Versions really.
That makes sense and so I don't have to worry about that.
Thanks a lot for explaining.

I'm sorry I am so late in replying to you. I just couldn't figure anything out on this PC.
I still had a problem with PSP PX2 and I thought I would uninstall and reinstall.

Don't try to do that unless you have another version. Of course you guys know more than I do about Windows 7 and PSP PX2 Ultimate.

I tried to install PSP PX2 Ult again but was unable as they wanted me to have a previous version of PSP which I didn't have installed.
I have all the CD's from VS. 7 onwards to VS. PSP PX2 Ultimate which I bought from Jasc and Corel.

So I tried downloading PSP X and they still wanted a previous version. I think it's a bot that pops up a notice or broken record :)

So finally I downloaded JASC VS. 7 and I know I had updates, to 7,04, but unable to get any updates for 7.
Besides I don't remember how to use it anymore. I used it for quite awhile too.

I phoned Corel today, they kept me on Hold for 15 minutes, I finally hung up as it was lousy music playing ...
and I figure they are too busy trying to sell or cut staff. I believe it was long distance too.

People surely aren't on holidays this summer. Not with the rainy weather we are getting on weekends......

I guess I will toss everything in the garbage and forget about PSP and COREL along with Microsoft Windows 7.
I am sick and tired of struggling. I can't even get into Annexcafe or perhaps it died too for all I know.
Thanks for all the help Dave and Tim and everyone else who helped me, so belated too.......

There's no rush for an answer now, Thanks anyway.
