Trouble reinstalling VS Pro X3 Trial Pending Purchase

Post by magnetman »

Hi, I had a virus which forced me to do a system restore. This occurred shortly after I had first installed the VS Pro X3 Trial and worked with it for a day.

My system is now not allowing a reinstall of the trial after I have cleaned up the registry of any traces of the program.
I have followed the "How to Manually Remove VS Pro" found here:
http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/764392

I have attempted the reinstall numerous times with no luck. The message I receive every time after the install procedure completes is:

"Installation Wizard not completed
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click finish to exit wizard.
Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue.
To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the control panel."

Can anyone help?
I am prepared to purchase the program after seeing it's capabilities but I can't waste time with this same issue if the licsenced version is going to have the same problem.

Thanks!

I assume this has something to do with the anti-piracy protection built-into the trial version.... To keep people from restoring their system and re-installing the trial every 30 days???

In the past, people have reported problems when re-installing the trial version (even though the trial period has not expired).

I wouldn't expect you to have the same problem with the purchased software, but if you can't get the trial working, you are taking a risk. And of course, you are taking a risk if you haven't fully evaluated the trial version.

If you decide to buy Video Studio and it doesn't work out for you, Corel does have a 30-day return policy, so you should be able to get a refund. (I can't promise anything.... I don't work for Corel, and I've never tried to get a refund.)
