So I'm trying to make a clip look really old. I add the filters but I want to render the clip at 15 FPS and then add it to the project. VS X2's MPEG2 setting only goes as low as 23.97. Should I use AVI? Quicktime? Although I have no idea what any of the settings in Quicktime mean.
By the way, I tried the search option. I entered +15 +frames and came up with over 4,000 posts, many of which DID NOT have 15 in them. It says to add the plus sign if the word must be in the search but it didn't seem to work like it should. Any suggestions for future searches would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
I did not think reducing the frame rate to 15 fps will show the video as old, but I have just tried and it does seem to make the film look old.
I would try the Avi option. This is probibaly the best option for editing.
Using Share Create Video File—custom—options will allow you to select your properties.
Choose ‘Microsoft Video 1’ as your compression.

Yes, at 15 FPS the clip is not as smooth, making it look more like an old video.
I will use AVI compression one! Thanks!

But X2 came with a number of 'Old Film' filters... why not use them instead of slowing down the speed?

Hi
The old film filter reverts the video to black and white, whilst the 15fps approach keeps some colour.

I do use those filters. 15 frames per second is not slowing the speed, only making that specific clip less smooth, or fluid. Gives it even more of an old film look.Ken Berry wrote:But X2 came with a number of 'Old Film' filters... why not use them instead of slowing down the speed?
