Importing from YouTube with VS 10
Has anyone had success importing a YouTube video into VS 10? I'm not sure if it's possible.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have never used V10.
I don't think it's possible...you'll need a YouTube video grabber/downloader of which there are plenty of for free. I recall reading about a browser plug-in that will do that job too. Either way you'll have to download the video from youtube first.
From my experience, VSx2 can get a bit tetchy editing with FLV based video, since it's not a nice to play with editable format. I use VSx2 to convert the FLV to an mpeg2 with decent results (as long as it's going bck to youtube)

Re: Importing from YouTube with VS 10
I've grabbed youtube footage in the past, encoded to another format and then edited it. The results are not very pretty if you are looking for a high resolution result. Flash video is extremely compressed and not very friendly to edit. It makes a great final format for the web but doesn't make a good source to start with.

Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

Re: Importing from YouTube with VS 10
You can render to FLV in VS, but not edit it. You would, indeed, have to convert it first before editing.

Try using Real Player, whilst viewing You Tube a download link is shown by real player, the downloaded file is then converted using real player.VinnyC wrote:Has anyone had success importing a YouTube video into VS 10? I'm not sure if it's possible.

May not have the format you need, it depends on what you are going to do with the video file.
