Ok so I'm new to all this stuff and have just watched the YouTube tutorial "Make a photo pop" where they show a flower in a 3D frame and then put it onto (into?) another landscape photo.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m7saXUS72E
I followed every step (sometimes a few times over) until I got to the very last step where a new photo (which was to be the background) was opened from the "Window" part of the toolbar. This is quite useless to me as I have no picture in there at all!! So I looked in the manilla folder for my files and opened my background photo there but that just changed all my layers photos to that photo. Useless again.
So, what do I need to do to get a photo into the Window area that I can then use as the background please?
Thanks,
Phil.

Re: How to make a picture pop out
Yes the author of that tutorial got a bit tricky there. Essentially he already had that photo open but because the flowers photo he was working on was maximized you couldn't see it. He probably opened it during one of the times he paused the video to speed up the actions.
However I'm not sure about the problems you mentioned.
What do you mean it changed the layer photo to the new background photo? Paint Shop Pro doesn't do that. Essentially I don't understand what you're describing.
If the image becomes maximized then you won't see your image and that might explain the problem you think you're having. Then you can go to the Window menu and select Tile Vertically like the author of the tutorial did to view them both.
But I've never seen Paint Shop Pro actually replace an open file with a new file. That just doesn't happen. So unless yours is doing something screwy I think you're simply mistaken as to what is happening. But I can't say that for sure.
