Hello, I have several anime features that I want to back up on Blu-Ray and watch at friends' houses on their Blu-Ray players, so I started using Movie Factory 7. It looks like the program that may be best suited for Blu-Ray authoring; simplistic interface, affordable price, etc. Plus any company that lets you trial their software for 30 days fully functional must be selling a solid product. However, I ran into a problem with the conversion. I wanted to make sure I had this right before actually burning to Blu-Ray, so I wouldn't make a coaster, and I'm glad I did; I "burned" the Blu-Ray folder, and when I watched the resultant m2ts file, the video was choppy. The video and audio were still in sync, just the video was choppy. I'm kind of a noob to this, but I think it may be the frame rate. The anime file I have is a 23.976 fps WMV-HD file. It looks like the program renders the video into 29.97 fps, which I guess is considered a "standard" frame rate for NTSC TV's. I noticed that in the settings menu there is a pull-down box for the frame rate, but it is greyed-out.
So I guess my question is how can I get a 23.976 fps WMV-HD movie to successfully burn to Blu-Ray without choppy video? Either by maintaining the 23.976 fps when the video is rendered to m2ts, or some setting that eliminates the choppiness when rendering from 23.976 fps to 29.97 fps as the program does?
I appreciate any response; and although I looked for something similar on the board, if this is a repetitious question, I apologize in advance.
Choppy video after "burning", frame rate maybe?

I don't have Blue Ray but.....
Your frame rate of 23.976 fps is much closer to the PAL frame rate of 25 fps.
You can change your setting to PAL by clicking the following:

OK thanks, I'll give it a shot and see how it looks.

I'd have thought it much more likley to be similar to the 24fps frame based rate of capture, particularly as it's a wmv file, can you choose this?

OK, I am going to try the 25fps PAL setting this morning. One thing that still bugs me though is that when you go under "Project Settings", then select "Change MPEG Settings", select "Customize" from the pull-down, and look under the "General" tab, there is a pull-down for "Frame Rate".
How do you get the "Frame Rate" pull down to be selectable? Everything I've tried so far keeps it greyed-out.

the frame rate is set at 25fps for pal and 29.97 for ntsc and 24 for progressive. You can't select PAL and then opt for a different frame rate.

Where do I select 24p as my output?

Nevermind, I've found a much, much better authoring program. TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 is perfect. Puts Corel DVD Moviefactory to shame
