Sound Quality

I am using the WinTV-PVR USB2 with DVD MovieFactory3. When I play a dvd thru s-video to record, it sounds great and the burned disk does also. The problem I have is when I capture directly from the tv instead - the sound sucks, and the burned copy does as well. Any suggestions? TIA!

This is what I did to solve a similar problem:

1) Capture sound distorted

make sure that you have the latest driver from Hauppauge, there was a driver version prior to pvr29wdm_2.6.23041.exe that was responsible for this type of problem (this is the driver that I am currently using, there is a newer driver at www.hauppauge.com that you may download)

2) same volume control between MovieFactory 3 and WinTV

If you find that your volume is lower or higher when switching between WinTV and MF3, try the following; In WinTV preference for Audio Mixer select Inputs WAVE from sound card not WinTV Wave - you may have to reboot for this to take effect

Also make sure that you have the latest updates from ULEAD build 300P01 including the Hauppauge drivers
