Having problems capturing please help

Post by Jessicoo »

Hi :)
So i am wanting some help with a capturing error i am having.
2 days ago i installed the Ulead driver for the Easycap device i had just got and on that day it worked perfectly fine.
I used it to capture from the games console Playstation 2.
Then i come to use it yesterday and suddenly it's not working anymore i get this message coming up -

"Unable to switch to capture mode.
Check if your video capture driver is working properly.
Failed to build a preview graph"

What does any of this mean??

The computer recognises that the capture device is plugged in so i presume Easycap device is still working.
So what is the problem here?

Thank you to anyone who helps :)

 I don't know if there's a solution, but a lot of people seem to have trouble with EazyCap. (If you search the forum, you will find several posts about it...)

I have a Hauppauge capture card, and it works well. The ATI All-In-Wonder and Pinncacle products are also popular. (I believe these are all more expensive than EazyCap.)

Hi

I agree with Doug regarding Easycap.

But what version of Video Studio are you using?

Did the program come bundled with Easycap?

Hi Jessicoo
Your system details seem very odd. Can you download and install Belarc Advisor and that will give you all the details you need to complete your systen]m details properly. It really is no help to put in the detail you have! You are requested to complete these details for a very good reason! Any problems go to the "Please read this before posting" thread at the top of his Forum. I think you have Video Studio version 10SE but please confirm!

Hi
I bought Easycap cheap on e-bay, long time ago now, never did get it working properly, now I have vista unfortunately my version is not compatible.
VS 10 SE version is supplied with Easycap.

Not sure what SE stands for, some say Special Edition I think it nearer to call it Short Edition
Basically it doesn’t do everything that the full versions do. Difficult to identify whats missing/ different.

I think the SE stands for Special Edition. It's called that because the company that supplies the SE with their hardware, tweak the SE to work with the specific hardware. in this case the Easycap. That's why so many people have trouble with the Easycap when they try to use it with "Proper" versions of VS
