@JStanley
There is no reason to run Antivirus or Firewall software while installing PSP, but there are many reason not to trust any of these software types. I have no idea how long you have been working with PSP, but long-time user of PSP remember very well several Norton 360 updates that didn't allow PSP (and others like Ashampoo or iTunes) to launch.

Our programs don't phone home, only if somebody buys a download version which has to be activated.

Re: How to remove PSPPX3 manually
Where can I get the clean up tool from? None of the links work and I can't get PSP X3 to uninstall.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Let me explain: The MSICleanup Tool is a very old one which was created by Microsoft for Windows 98/2000/XP. It has never experienced any further development. Already under Vista, Microsoft realised that it might not work, because many people had problems removing programs.
In May last year (2010), Microsoft removed the MSI Cleanup tool and asked people to use the Control Panel, even for an old version of Outlook:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/257667/en-us
You have given the link for our FTP address: yes, it's true that this tool is available, however, it's only for our old programs made for 2000/XP. We have removed all links in our instructions for all programs which have to run under Windows Vista/Windows 7.
Using this tool under Vista/Windows 7 damages the system and not all files are removed. As a result, many people can't reinstall a program and have to reinstall their entire system.
I know that removing PSPX3 isn't easy. But you can't even use that MSI Cleanup tool under XP. Please only use the instructions we have given:

(Copy and paste the entire link into your browser address line)
Many thanks for your understanding
Simone
We have had the same discussion quite a while ago and I'm not sure if it was in that topic here:1. Download the MSICleanup.exe here (Save this file to your Windows Desktop):
ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/Installer/MSICleanup.exe

Thanks, I'm trying to get X3 uninstalled now.
Wonder if X4 will uninstall any easier?

Sorry, I haven't written my text about the MSI tool as a private person who has used the tool on 3 home machines in the recent 10 years. I was writing my sentences as member of the Corel Technical Support who has to do with thousands of customers in a year.

Re: How to remove PSPPX3 manually
I am totally confused on removing PSPPX3 from my computer. It sounds like in the thread that you should NOT use the cleanup tool, but the link to removing X3 says download and run the cleanup tool. So which is it?
The steps also say to delete the COREL folder, but this folder contains all of the other Corel products I have installed. Same for C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Application Data and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\. Regedit instructions indicate deleting anything Corel, but that doesn't sound right either. ?????????????????????????
Thanks,
Larry

Re: How to remove PSPPX3 manually
This is ridiculous.
If software is this screwed up, it should be refunded at user request.
I pretty much NEVER HAD a problem with PSP 10, but figured it was time to upgrade to X3 and it's been the worst software upgrade I've ever made.
