Wow... Absolutely ridiculas that this thread is even here. I began having problems with PSP X  and then discovered the evil nightmare was just begining...
First off, the install program should have NO PROBLEM uninstalling everything! Thats the job of the code writers and script kiddies who put together the installer! Shameful!
Now I discovered the cause of one of this programs major bugs, but the bug is so big it should be called a RAT and the programmers sent home without pay. In FACT, the bug is so big it affected the program on two operating systems on a dual boot computer. Suddenly on morning, the program would hang on loading at the famous "updating cache" thing... I say famous because people I have seen this ridiculas error back in version 10 forums!! With no resolution! So, I discovered the program hung up because there were 4 folders on another sata internal drive that held all my pics. Well, I moved them to a new area on another drive. The problem began. The nightmare began! I searched the world over for fixes, and none were found. I Tried deleting some "cache" files like the instructions for version x2 and x1 said but they weren't where they were supposed to be at. I gave it the update for x3 thinking "OMG they must have fixed it!" It then told me the stupid thing was modified and I would haveto reinstall. Then the uninstall nightmare began! I tried uninstalling. Then the MSI tool. Well that didnt ZAP anything! I tried to manually delete it. Wow, what the hell were you guys doing putting corel in every known folder all over the friggan place? Seriously!!???
The registry entries were numbering around 3800! How was I supposed to clean THAT? So I tried three yes THREE registry cleaners after deleting all the corel folders out so the entries would be cleaned. It wiped every SINGLE refernce to corel, paint shop and god knows what else out.....
And behold! The installer told me it could not install because I hadn't uninstalled the program and all was broken blah blah blah... Seriously? FOR REAL? Most people have trouble IN stalling stuff and using thier computer let alone this B.S. BULL CRAP! Why should you need third party uninstaller apps and 3 registry cleaners and then a full HD restore to smooth grandmas skin for her funeral picture!!!!! OMG!
So dont give us this manual uninstall crap at the top ov ever forum list! MY GOD fix the problem! This appears to have been from 3 versions past even! So you gurus at corel look into what I said about moving those folders. Seems if PSP doesnt know about the move it GAGS, and finally suffocates.
I do love the program but at what cost? I am NO average computer user, but a very knowledgeable one indeed. Thanx for your time but...

To help you fix the issue I need to know if you have any other Corel Software installed on the system?

1. You will first need to use the Removal Tool CDS 2010 Clean-Up Ver1.9.exe, you can download the file from the link below:
- http://corel.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/ge ... 1281606771
- the reason for this type of tool is if files in the install become corrupt, you can use the tool to manually remove the software. All major software companies will have similar tools. When a file becomes corrupt the Windows Installer will not be able to remove it an you will receive an error and the program is still stuck on the system.

- When running the tool select all the options for removal (unless you have other Corel Software installed)
- Select Next and wait for the tool to finish

2. Once the tool is done, you will need to verify that all the files are deleted (Please Note: only delete the folders if you have no other Corel Programs installed on the system)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Pro
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\MLE
C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Corel\PaintShop Photo Pro
C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\ULead Systems
C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Local\Corel

3. Once the following folders have been removed you will then need to manually remove the registry keys:
**** PLEASE NOTE: Make sure to back-up your registry before making any changes****
**** PLEASE NOTE: The keys listed below are for 64-bit windows, if you have a 32-bit the keys are the same just remove "Wow6432Node"
**** PLEASE NOTE: Some keys you might not find because they have already been deleted or the version of PSPPX3

Re: How to remove PSPPX3 manually

Post by df »

I did a reinstall of X3. It turned out that X3 wasn't the issue at all and I didn't need to do it. But now I'm trying to reinstall the KPT plugins that come with X3. It tries to install then says it failed and I need to uninstall the KPT filters from the Add/Remove programs part of Windows. I did that but I still get the same error.

Does anyone have any help?
Thanks
Regards, Dan

I just use Revo Uninstaller and it's complete. Download and use for free! At least for 30 days!

Even after following these instructions it still does not remove ALL files pertaining to PSPP. I spent more than 2 hours sifting through the registry to remove thousands of files. PSPP is horrendous to uninstall and this should be addressed by Corel.

I agree that PSPP X3's uninstall routine is pretty dreadful. But the worst part of it is a serious bug that causes it to remove every single file in the user's My Documents\My PSP Files folders. Those folders have been shared by default by all versions of PSP since PSP 9. Every other version leaves them alone when you uninstall, or at least only deletes the couple of files that were created during installation. X3 deletes every file there, which could include years of collected and created user resources. It probably does, because it is the default location for user files.
This is a serious bug that was reported a few days after X3's release in January 2010, and is still not fixed.
Be very, very careful when uninstalling X3, and keep an eye open for an option (which is selected by default) for deleting user files, otherwise you could end up losing years of collected resources.

(It shouldn't happen of course because you should have a regular backup routine, and have copies of all those files, but...)

Please note that our knowledgebase is currently under construction.

The old link for the removing tool CDS2010Clean-Upver1_9.exe doesn't work.

Please use this link below until the knowledgebase has been fully updated:

Hi I am at wits end with this. I had a major system crash and had to reinstall windows 7. When I re-downloaded psppx3 the fun started. I would get most of the way through and it would tell me that I already had a copy of the programme on my system. So I looked around and found this forum. I followed all the steps posted here and lo and behold I got to 93% and that is as far as it will go. Does anyone have any suggestions short of throwing my system away and starting afresh?

Which installation file are you using? What is its name and file size? When you run it, does it show a small window that has "iNosso" written on it?

I'm almost going barmy trying to uninstall this download. I've tried following all the instructions on this thread, but the Disc Clean Utility link it no longer operative.

I've tried downloading and running Perfect Uninstaller, but even that doesn't work.

I'm sure this PSP X3 is at the root of a problem I've been having recently with another Corel program - even though I downloaded PSP X3 in October 2010, and the other program still continued to work until recently. I'll explain:

For several years now, and over several systems I've owned, I've been using Corel Photo House v.3 - a basic photo-editing program I got free with a printer once. I use it extensively and have gotten used to it. It does everything I want it to do for the work I do, and is easy to use.

Recently, however, I went to open the program and got the following error message:

Photo House.exe - Application Error

The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812afb

The program will then not open. I've tried the following to try to rectify the problem:
- uninstall and reinstall
- System Restore (this created other problems with the computer - loss of desktop icons and taskbar, non-functioning mouse - so I had to undo the restoration in the end)
- run Disc Checking Utility

After unrestoring the system back to the present date, I tried the program again and get the same error message, but this time preceded by another one that says:

Key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\CorelDRAW\8 .0" Value: "ConfigDir" not found in the Registry

I don't know what else I can try. I just want to get rid of this damned PSP X3 completely and get back to using Corel Photo House v.3.

Can anyone help, please?

Even so I have had perfectly legitimate programs stopped in their tracks by anti-virus software because of a problem with the definition or heuristic of the anti-virus. And it is an instruction by many legitimate pieces of software. The step isn't required, simply precautionary.
