Gif Animator was created during the reign of Microsoft XP.
Please view GIF Animation work Vista?
Anything there relating to Vista will also apply to Windows 7.

Ah thanks for the reply. So Gif Animator is a dead product, then.
Sad. Used it for years.
Oh well, moving on to a different product, I guess.

Not so fast.

On Windows XP, when you open the property dialog of any .exe file, you will see a "compatibility" tab. When we click on that, we see the options associated with running the program in a compatibility mode for previous operating systems. I do not know anything about Windows 7, but I would expect there to be available on the property dialog of any .exe file, similar compatibility options, and perhaps you can select a "Windows XP" compatability option there.

...and Win 7 Professional, which you have, allows that compatibility mode... though not Win 7 Home Premium or Basic.

GIF animator is not compatible with Windows 7, you can visit http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 4516325170, to know which version of the Corel Software is compatible with Windows 7.

There is a workaround for you to make old program works on Windows 7, however we cannot assure you this is a 100% fool proof. You can use the Windows 7 Program Compatibility and the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC, which are both from Microsoft.

You can follow the steps for Windows 7 Program Compatibility from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows

You can download and install the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtua ... nload.aspx.
