Hi John
At 277 Mb I‘m sure the file is a little on the big size to e-mail.
Windows live has an option for SkyDrive which allows for sharing files but limited to 50 Mg.
Windows Live Messenger would do it, I think.
Both parties have to be on line together I will give it a try today between my desktop and laptop.
Do you use Windows Live Messenger?, its probably installed on the pc.
But look here:-
http://explore.live.com/home
Unless others have ideas on how to upload/download large files.
Update:-
Ok I have broadband and just tried a file transfer 213 Mb in 6 minutes

Hi Trevor
Most ISP's give you a little hosting space for free. I use this to upload a big file. Zip the file first otherwise on downloading a movie file Windows will try to run the file. Then just send the link to the file including the file extension to the recipient who just clicks the link and is presented with the download window like this sample:http://www.johnm.f2s.com/Capture.zip
EDIT
Just read your last post Trevor. That's fine but for someone with a slower connection it could take considerably longer!

Hi John
Thanks for the info, I assume you have to first upload the Capture.zip to your server.
At least the recipient can download at any time, but the transfer will be similar times choose what you use, speed depends on what connection he has. I’m just waiting for the other John to reply.
Just gave him the option and was interested myself on what size files Messenger allowed, don’t think there is a limit.
Johns file is 277Mb with his converted version heading in a 1 Gb direction, a bit big for a sample……………..

Hi Ken
Just to keep you informed on progress.
John managed to send a clip some 277Mb -- took over 3 hours to upload.
I was unable to open the file using Video Studio X2. (don’t have X3)
Your comments earlier regarding camera and file types seems correct, so many different flavours of video files out there.
Using Super I converted the video to standard Ntsc DVD format quality looking ok, and have informed John of the settings, John seemed to have problems with a massive file size, but now will be able to edit as mpeg 2.
Using AVS converter was able to see these properties from the MP4 file.
Mpeg 4
1280 x 720
8997 kbps
59.94 f/s
H.264/AVC
Audio
64kbps
48000Hz
Mpeg2/4 Audio
There seems to be a few posts of late regarding these types of files, either cannot open or cannot convert, X2 and X3 -- one poster struggling to convert to 60 fps.

Hi John/Ken
Over the past few days I have had access to X3 and can confirm that i can open these files without problems.
X2 still gives a file format mismatch?????????
