Canopus VideoFX Transitions has some nice aircraft transitions, works fine with Ulead MediaStudio Pro. I believe moderator Ken Berry has a Ulead plugin for this Canopus product that works with later versions of VideoStudio beyond version 9. Ken, have you tried it with VideoStudio Pro X3?

Take a look at the screenshots:

Hello,

I've come across this quite recent topic while searching how to make Canopus Transitions work with Corel Video Studio.
I'm also just lacking the small plugin to insert into the vfx repertory in order to link Canopus FX to CVS.

Would someone be kind enough to send me this little file, since it seems it's the only solution to get it ?

Thanks in advance...

Thank you very much. This works just fine! :)

Although, I have noticed some problems with the Canopus Transitions when saving HD video files.
When I work in these conditions :
- HD rushes (tried 720p 16/9 60 i/s , 1080p 16/9 30 i/s : Gopro HD videos)
- project saved in mp4 29.97i/s, "H264-MAIN", minimum allowed bitrate (2000 kbps in 640x480, 5000 in 720p ...),
then I get problems with Canopus "3D objects" and "standard" transitions if I want to get an edited video file in at least 720p resolution. When I launch the creation of the video file, I get an "Initialisation error" window from Canopus for each of these transitions, and the final result in the video file is simply 1 fixed image during the whole duration of the probematic transitions.
On the contrary, no problem in 720p with Canopus "Alpha" based transitions, or with all Canopus transitions in 480p resolution.

I'm a little disappointed, but at least I have all of the alpha-based Canopus transitions working in HD !

I guess this version of Canopus I have (2003) is too old to cope correctly with HD transitions, at least for "standard" and "3D objects" transitions...

If someone has encountered the same difficulties, or has everything working fine in 720p or higher, don't hesitate to confirm this here... :?:

I think that is the case. The problem is that there is no further update of the program, as far as I am aware. It disappeared from the (then) Canopus site some years ago... Frankly, I had given up on using them once I moved to HD video. I use some of the proDAD Adorage series instead when I need outside transitions not available in VS. But the proDAD range are expensive...

The other day I picked up the ProDad Adorage FX 10 package, which has some airplane transitions, for half price. The link was provided by Corel. You should have the link on the product page via clicking that orange icon in the upper right corner of the VS window. The price shown is about $80 US, but after getting on Prodad's website, the price is reduced 50%, or about $40 US.
