Printing direct to DVD with Epson R200

Post by Nephylym »

Greetings everyone!

I am now using the trial version of DVD MovieFactory and so far, I LOVE IT !! The only thing right now is that I have purchased an Epson R200 and I cannot seem to be able to find the right settings in order to print directly to DVD.

Here is what I have done... I went into the CUSTOM PAPER SIZE to create a paper size that would include only 1 12cm disk with large circle in the middle. (4.685inches height and width). But when I print it to my printer, it is completely offset and ends up dropping ink on the actual DVD tray.

So I wonder if anyone here could tell me what I would need to put into the X-offset and Y-offset in order to get the correct printing position?

To all of you out there who think that you cannot print directly to your DVDs with the R200, well, I almost printed a complete DVD cover and had it not been for this offsetting, it would be PERFECT !!! So I'm guessing that if we can find the right settings, all will be well.

Note that in the printer's settings, you need to specify MANUAL feed AND CD/DVD in paper-type.

I 've fiddlled around with some offset settings but being out of cardboard test-discs, I am tired of scrapping actual printable CDs to test it out.

So if anyone out there can help me out with this, I woud greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Hi Marty

I found you post in search and I am in the same situation.

I have successfully printed on disc for a while but have a strange problem that maybe you can help me with

I usually use the standard setting for the espon printer which is in the pull down box

This prints correctly but I would like a format that prints on the complete disk ( this format leaves the inner circle empty)

When I use an alternative setting to print on the complete disc it prints slightly off

I can send a picture of this problem

thanks
