No LCD Screen in Record Mode

Post by Black Lab »

A friend has a Canon GL2 and is experiencing a peculiar problem. He is a teacher and wonders if one of the kids changed a setting.

When in record mode the LCD screen has no picture, except for a gradient purple color. Viewfinder works fine. LCD works fine in playback mode.

Anyone ever experience something like this with their cam, whether it be a GL2 or not?

never had that with my XM2's.
I can't recall seeing anything in the menu to turn off the lcd screen and have just had a look and can't see anything.
I suspect maybe a connection problem pc/cam or a connection problem internal to the cam. :(

That was my initial reaction, but it works fine during playback. Only during recording does it not work. Strange.
