Keep loosing context toobar / what key combo?

Post by bobmct »

I'm still using an old version of PSP (8.1) but it gets the job done. I've had this problem for years and ran into it again so hopefully someone can help.
When I'm in the midst of editing when I select a particular tool there is an associated action/toolbar that appears up near the top of the screen. Adjustments to the tool can be made here. Also, on many, there is an "apply" button which applies the editing function.

Well, for what ever reason, I very often loose the display of these toolbars and therefore loose control and/or application of the tool. I've searched through all the menu settings, searched help extensively, both within and online as well as this forum, all to no avail.

Can someone familiar with this issue PLEASE advise what I must to get these toolvars back when they disappear? And/or how I can "apply" the action with a key combination?

Eventually I will upgrade to X3 but not right now.

Thanks all - :?:

It's been a long time, but you could try Ctrl-Shift-T

While I'm not familiar with the problem I might be able to advise on something.

What you're referring to is not a toolbar but rather the Tool Options Palette. The hotkey for getting this to appear is F4.
The Tool Options palette (F4) is where you modify the options for the currently selected tool. The options in the Tool Options palette change depending on the tool selected.
Now I don't know of any short-cut key for applying changes. I think most tools that require that you apply changes do so before working with another tool. So try changing layers or selecting a different tool when you're done using said tools. If I'm right then it'll tell you to apply the change first and you can simply hit OK on the dialog that pops up. If I'm not right...well now you know how to get the Tool Options Palette back. :D

Crop, is the only one with an apply button that should work if you hit enter, or double click in the crop box.
