don't have video or audio

Post by potassium »

Hello all.
I bought the Easycap version 2.10.
when i pluged it to my VHS, i can't see or hear nothing.
I don't know what to do.
When i plug it to my TV everything works.
In my VHS i also have DVD player, and the DVD don't play as well.
What should i do??

I have Vista Ultimate, should i instal any driver wxcept the one that on the CD?

I bought the Easycap version 2.10. Did it come with capture software, if so what? Does this work?
when i pluged it to my VHS, i can't see or hear nothing. How is it plugged into your vhs? If by scart plug, do you have an in/out scart as most are in only.

When i plug it to my TV everything works. How do you plug it into your tv?
In my VHS i also have DVD player, and the DVD don't play as well. It'll probably work when we get the connection right.

Hey sir.
1. the Easycap came with this software: Ulead VideoStudio SE DVD
2. I plugged the video cable into the VHS in the "video out", and the red audio cable to the red "audio out". i don't have SCART on the VHS, it's plugged with simple composite cables.
3. To the TV i plugged it from the out inputs on the VHS from one side, and on the TV to the inputs of the yellow video and red audio.

I really want to make this work, so please explain me what to do next.
I can upload a photo of all the inputs on the VHS if this help?

Does the SE version of Video Studio have a number? I see that you are using Vista. No version of Video Studio backwards from VS10 will work with Vista. The full version of VS10 would only work with Vista with a special patch, but unfortunately patches don't work with SE versions...

A lot of people seem to have trouble with EazyCap.
When i plug it to my TV everything works.
What is "it"? EazyCap works with the TV? Or the VHS/DVD player works with the TV?

If you can do it on an XP machine that would be an option.

Another option is to upgrade your VideoStudio. The only problem with that is, sometimes hardward manufacturers such as EasyCap tweak software (such as VideoStudio) to work specifically with their product. So your upgraded VS may not work with the EasyCap. I would download the trial of X3 to see if it is compatible.

Yet, another option is to contact the makers of EasyCap and see if they have a solution.

Yes sir,
The VHS working when i'm connecting it to the TV, but when i'm connecting the VHS to the Easycap and the Easycap to the TV, no Video display.
When i press "Capture", i see a grey video screen that flashes slowly.
Does a print screen will help?

I also have Easy cap with Video Studio 10. Did you install the CD with the software and drivers? If you did install it, were there any errors? If you are connecting the VCR to the Easy cap with the yellow RCA plug, make sure on Video Studio 10 where it says video input that you are selecting "VHS composite", not VHS S. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I did succeed to work the SW - on XP OS!
i have a question - how do i reduce the size of MB that created?
Currently any movie that i capture is way to large for my PC.

* also, if i will want to do it on Vista at the end, what do i need to configure in the Audio section? currently i can't hear a sound.
Please advice
