Capture fails from Sony DVM

I have a sony DVR-trv30, and I'm trying to capture the tape via firewire to Movie Factory SE. It seems to work fine, until I start to play back what is captured, and I only get back about 14 minutes of the video, then some pixelated stuff, and then it ends.

Is there something I need to do to make it capture the entire tape?

I am also having a problem with this program and was trying also to transfer tapes from the sony dvd300 camera. The program hangs and gives errors when I try to burn the disk.

What is your Windows OS?
How are your drives formatted, FAT or NTFS?

XPPro, SP2.

NTFS.

I thought it might have something to do with the 4GB limit of FAT drives. Apparently not since you have NTFS hard drives.

Eh, doesn't matter. I downloaded the Nero demo, and it worked, so I went and bought that.
