Corel Take over

Post by Micksan »

I have the paint shop X3. Just prior to our trip I had to reformat the computer and reinstall the corel. Came back from Europewith a bit over 500 shots to download. Did so with out problem. The went through the corel downloader. They are stored in my pictures.
Problem . I have to go through and get the really bad shops sorted out prior the edit stage. When I click on a picture thumbnail. It will open up the corel software. Do I need to download again and decline the corel software , or is there some feature I need to activate/ turn off that I have not been able tofind.
Thanks in advance

You haven't filled in your Profile details. However, if you are using Win 7 (possibly also Vista), then down in the bottom left hand corner, in the Search box, type in something like Open With. Then a big window will open labelled 'Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program' will open. Scroll down to the extension(s) you are wanting to change and select the new program you want to open that file type with...

I am sorry but I no longer have Vista installed on any of my computers. But the ability to change file associations has been a feature of Windows just about forever, though how to access the feature in previous versions was a bit different to the above...

All you have to do in any Windows OS is go to My Pictures folder and right click any file.
From the drop down menu you will have a choice to 'Open With' .Select the program you want from the resulting list and Windows usually will associate that program to open all the corresponding files of the same type
