X3 poor perfromance when Smartsound added

Post by rkartzinel »

I have a 12 minute project with many small videos from iClone 4 and Crazytalk 6. VS X3 PRO works fine. When I add in a Smartsound audio track, a command can take 1+ minutes to execute but VS does not crash. I have the 13.6.0.272 version, but the new Smartsound patch did not make any diffierence. Also no difference if smartproxy is on or off. There is nothing running in the background.

Second question. Will VS X3 run better with WIndows 7 64 bit (instead of current 32) on an Intel i7 930 (instead of current Intel Q 6600), 9 MB RAM (instead of current 3 MB) and a video card with 1024 instead of 512?

What are these? What are their properties? While you may think these videos are not a problem because they run fine before adding the SmartSound, they may be contributing to the problem, depending on what they are.

Please read the "Read This Before Posting" sticky near the top of this forum and supply the requested info.

Sorry. They are both AVI-open DML, 30 FPS, 24 bit, 1280x720 uncompressed. The audio is PCM 16 bit stereo.

Sorry, but that still doesn't really help us much -- there are around 800 different video codecs which use the carrier extension .avi... Given the properties you list, I would guess that the "avi' may in fact be masking something like the relatively new AVCHD Lite format; but equally it could be DivX or XVid, all of which use use .avi as their extension. Did you get the properties from right clicking on them inside Video Studio or from some other source?
