choppy caputed video
I have been using VS 9, 10, 11 & X2 versions and had no problem. hadn't used for while and when I started capturing now the video and sound is choppy. i tried with windows movemaker and the result is the same.
i suppose it is some codec problem. (i had recently installed NCH video capute software. i tried to uninstall NCH but doesn't uninstall smoothly, system hangs. can anyone suggest how to do a clean uninstall for NCH software.)
How to resolve the VS video capute problem. is there directX update required (where i can get it).
Regards,
Pillai

Hi
Can you fill in the details of your PC spec via your profile, Use the link to the Belarc Advisor to help.
That way we can assess your computer capabilities, X2 being more demanding on the pc.
.

There is a link to a download at the top of this forum.
It is worth the effort to manually install this update

Re: choppy caputed video
It sounds more like nch is the problem, maybe it didn't install properly, and as you can't uninstall it, I suspect it is conflicting. Contact NCH as to how to get rid of it.ramdaspillai wrote:i suppose it is some codec problem. Re: choppy caputed video
Hi,
I did update the directX from the link. Still the video capture is not working.
While capturing I can see the frame rate jumps in lots and the video freezes after every while and then goes on.
the captured video plays in the same way with a choppy audio as well.
Regards,
Pillai

Re: choppy caputed video
I did uninstall the program, though was not fully successfull. Also did tried to clean up the registry with a third party software.
I have sent an email to NCH Debut capture software support. Searched their support page, but couldn't find any relevant post.
Waiting for NCK response.

Re: choppy caputed video
I am capturing from Panasonic NV-GS70 video camera (Mini DV tape) through firewire cable/card. I have been doing this for years but had no problem before.
Yes, all running program terminated through Task Manager, including anti-virus.

Re: choppy caputed video
Hi
What format are you using to capture………
DV is the best you can use as this literally copies the data from the camera to the pc.
It creates DV-Avi files at 13 Gb per hour.
So what are you using?
If not DV then please try this option.

Re: choppy caputed video
Have you tried either WinDV or Windows Movie Maker to capture your DV? If either or both of those are successful, then that clearly points to a problem in VS. If they too have difficulties, then that points to a more general problem...

Re: choppy captured video
Hi,
The problem happens in Windows Moviemaker also. I do not have winDV.
I am using DV format to capture which comes as default when I connect the DV camera.
In Windows Moviemaker, I tried using AVI format, but the result is the same.
Any one knowsteps for a clean removal of NCH Debut video capture software? I will give it a try.
Regarrds,
Pillai
