MP4 Import with X2

Post by VTPyzon »

I am having a problem importing Mp4 files into X2.

When I try to import the file, I get the error:

Unable to open file [filename] File format mismatch.

I can open and view the file with other applications.

The files are from a GoPro Hero HD.

I have installed the Service Pack 2, which says it addresses an issue with importing Mp4.

Can X2 import Mp4 files?
What could be the problem?
Any suggested solutions?

Thanks.

Video Studio may still have trouble with some MPEG-4 variations. :?:

What output-format are you looking for? (Video Studio should be able to make MPEG-4 file, if that's what you want, but you might have to convert your original file to something else first.)

You can try converting to a different format with SUPER (FREE!!!). For example, if you're making a DVD, you can convert to DVD-compatible MPEG-2. (Let us know if you need help with that.)

Hi,

You may be able to import them. But you will not be able to edit them !!

Convert them to MP2 or similar using the suggested program above.

MP4s that are downloaded from You Tube can be imported and edited in VS x2 (12). They are of poor quality but you can certainly work with them. Suggest VTPyzon downloads one from You Tube and see if that works. Then he will know if the problem is with his original. He doesn't say how he gets his video clips from the camcorder to the PC. What software does he use?
