Can not delete thumbprint in library
I am using VS 12 and when I was deleting old thumbprints from the library so I can load a new project. about 10 blank thumbprints appear and when I try to delete them a message says `load from stream error` and whatever I do I cannot get rid of it. I can`t even sort out the thumbprints in order of date without the messages appearing. I have to close the programme down through the task manager. Is there some way of getting rid of this the blank thumbprints?

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
You need to delete the library and let VidoeStudio create a new one.
We will be happy to let you know how to do this once you have completed your profile so that we know what operating system we are dealing with.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
Please close VideoStudio.
Using Windows Explorer navigate to the following folder
C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\13.0
Replace Stephen with your windows user name.

Replace Stephen with your windows user name.
Delete the file VS_video.dat
Now open VideoStudio - it will recreate the file you just deleted and you thumbnails should be back to the original installation setting.-

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
Hi
There is also an option to ‘Reset’ the whole library to its default.
From Video Studio
Tools-Library Manager-Reset library.
The other options allow you to save/import the library.
The Library Organiser is useful as you can create your own library pages.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
Never noticed that before, did a check and can now see it was introduced in VideoStudio 12.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
I'm having the same "load from stream error" trouble with still images in the library, but can't find a way to AppData/roaming, and don't know what to do from there.
Would appreciate some help.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
It's okay - I've managed to delete VS-image.dat and my library is now cleared. ( I wasn't able to use the route Users\Sue\AppData...... but had to key Users\User\ AppData....................Where my ID has gone I don't know!

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
The Reset Library option isn't available in VS11.5, but as you'll see from my previous post, I managed to solve it eventually.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue on my system? Cannot find the above solution on my computer. After many load from stream errors my program locks down and I have to use Task Manager to close it. Thank you.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
Hi
and welcome to the forum.
Maple Shade, you don’t give much information regarding your problem.
There is a post at the top of this forum titled. “Please read this before posting”
If you can tell us which version of video studio you are using would certainly help me, as I made that mistake earlier.
If you are using X2 or X3 then there is a re-set library option. I assume you have read earlier replies within this post.
So you would have tried resetting the library?
If you are running X3 please view Corels system requirements here.

Re: Can not delete thumbprint in library
Thank you Trevor. Sorry for the incomplete info. I am using VideoStudio 9. None of the above solutions work for me. If you have any other suggestions I will appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: VS 9 library files
Hi Maple Shade
I do not know if replacing the library will sort your problem, but if its caused by a corrupt library then it may help.
The folder containing the library files is here:-
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\9.0
I think these folders are Hidden by windows.
From windows Explorer, any folder select Tools-Folder Options-View tab—select the Show Hidden Files and Folders option
The actual library files are called :-
VS_Video.dat
VS_Image.dat
VS_Title.dat
VS_Audio.dat
You have a few options.
1 / Rename the VS_Video.dat type files to VS_Video copy.dat
When you open VS 9 a new VS_Video.dat will be created, setting the video library page to its default state.
Repeat with the other files.
If you need the old library pages, simply replace the files.
2 / re-name the complete folder “9.0” to “9.0copy”
When you open VS 9 a new folder 9.0 will be created.
This will / should set the library, in fact the whole programs templates to their default state.
3 / Re-install VS 9 using a Clean Install.
Good Luck
