I had a PC operating on Windows XP that got fried in a thunder storm. Hard drive was OK.
Hooked up the old hard drive to new PC (running on Win 7) and copied Ulead & Corel files to desktop. I *think* I got everything I need copied over to the new PC. I found the installer file and attempted to install but it is asking for a serial number.
Now I really do not know what to do! Would the serial number be located somewhere on the old hard drive? And before I even go through with all of this, will Video Studio be compatible with Windows 7?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Reason: A post simply entitled "VideoStudio 11" is rather meaningless in the VideoStudio forum.

I am not aware of any service packs to make VideoStudio 11 compatible with Windows 7.
Your serial number will be recorded on the Corel Website - you have to log into your account to retrieve it.

I presume this applies to VS 12 also. If so what are my best options (which will obviously cost) if/when I upgrade tp a new machine running Win7?sjj1805 wrote:I am not aware of any service packs to make VideoStudio 11 compatible with Windows 7.

Re: Video Studio 11 and Windows 7
There is an update patch to make VideoStudio X2 (12) compatible with Windows 7

Re: Video Studio 11 and Windows 7
so regardless of what I do, it probably won't work with Windows 7? This may be a stupid question, but could I run the program somehow off the old hard drive while it's hooked up to the Win 7 computer?

No - it doesn't matter if a hard drive is inside the "computer", hooked up as an external hard drive or even accessed via a network share. Your computer is running windows 7.
