Audio Stutters
Hi, I downloaded the trial version of Movie Factory 6 and am having trouble building video projects. I have 2 fairly large avi files (each about 1.3 GB) that I created from a tv stream and wanted to burn them onto a DVD (I use DVD -R). The capture device has an internal encoder that encodes the files using Divx and creates avi files. Everything seems fine throughout the build process (I even tested the play back of each video in the project), but when I burn either directly to disk or create an ISO - the audio stutters and the movies are unwatchable (I used a custom audio file in the DVD menu and that works fine). I tried using nero and imgburn to burn the ISO files and even dropped the speed down to 4x. I don't mind tweaking settings or trying new media, but this project takes appox 4 hours to build and I suspect that the MF6 software is causing my issue during the burn process. I have used up about 15 hours today trying to build a disk that will be about 1.5 hours, I could really use some help. Thanks in advance.

Re: Audio Stutters
Does you capture device use any format apart from DivX? I ask because, as you may know, DivX is mpeg-4 and heavily compressed. Moreover, it often uses frame sizes which are not necessarily compatible with international DVD standards. If you are trying to burn a standard video DVD, that means the DivX has to be uncompressed and converted to the less compressed DVD-compatible mpeg-2 format. This conversion will certainly lead to loss in quality, and if in fact VS has to change the frame size from, say 640 x 480 to 720 x 480, you will also often get the sort of stutters you describe.
So if your capture device can capture direct to mpeg-2, it would be much better for your end product.

Re: Audio Stutters
Thank you for the reply, Ken.
I think I figured out my issue, I think I corrupted the files by cutting them with another software before importing them into my project. Every other 'uncut' file I have works fine if I use the editing tool inside the software. I may try using a different output type. Would using a different output type, like mpeg-2, take less time to build a project? Four hours is a long time to build a disk for 2 files. Thanks again.
