I tried it out after the patch has been installed, but still no sound on the dvd import.

Imported AVI files crashes my comp.
Where did you get your version of DVD WS? Did it come bundled with any hardware? Is there any indication of "SE" as part of the name?
Your source disc might have Dolby Digital audio, and the TRIAL won't support Dolby Digital audio. And maybe there are some bundled versions that do not support DD Audio as well (I don't know).
Check if your source has Dolby Digital audio -- if so, then you should contact Ulead's Technical support to help figure out why your version does not decode DD Audio.

Hey what are components i was on the ulead site looking at dvdworshop 2 page and it said download components if you haven't rec them with your box version, will that help, bring the audio?, its on the right hand side of the page under download

I got it at a computer fair where they sell lots of diff software and htey have a licence to do so.
So what type of audio does your source have (the DVD Disc you are copying)???
when i look in audio track it says: mpeg.
But when i look at the source when being opened by scene on the dvd it reads:
dolby digital
stereo mode
2 channel(s)
?
