Crispness of Image

Post by Gra »

Hi Guys
I'm doing a quick animation on a piece of text. The font is Existence Light, which is a narrow font and is used by a company in their logo. The animation is straight forward but when the text is static it doesn't look uniform and its edges are jagged or wrinkled.

I used the bevel control and set extrusion at "1" and that made it look uniform but it's still a little jagged looking. I tried playing with "Precision" but no change (what is that supposed to do?) I set the display to optimum as well but, bizarrely, that made the whole presentation look a bit choppy.

Any ideas, guys, on how to make it look sharp and smooth?

Also, I'm exporting as an AVI file to insert in a movie. I'm in PAL-land and the movie will be played on a PC and may be exported to a DVD. Which setting should I use as there's a choice between Frame-based or field order A or B?
Thanks & regards.

Is there anybody there... or have all C3D PS users gone to that great software place in the sky???

Can anyone give me any tips or advice about using either frame-based or field order for my AVI overlay output? It will be used in an AVI edit I'm doing in MSP8. Perhaps I've got it all wrong. When I open in MSP it always has a black background instead of transparent and I have to use the bluscreen or colour key to erase it.

It's getting a bit urgent and if anyone can guide me it would be really welcome.
Thanks & regards.

Hi Gra,

I think that most have in fact moved on to some other program. I re-installed it just to refresh my memory....;)

I think you need to use the Best settings for output quality in the Preferences, and not optimal. You're using this for a video production, not the web, so file size is not an issue.

Next use the Export video overlay, this will produce a 32 bit avi file so that you can just insert it into MSP, and not worry about chroma-keying out the background. Is your video production in MSP a DV video file that uses LFF? If so you can use that field order, however just using Frame Based will work, since it will take on the field order of your video project in MSP. Me, I would have my 3D video using Frame based..;)
