First post here... I did a search on the archive here and the knowledge base and didn't come up with anything.
I created several business card images in PSP Photo X2, working space was sRGB, file saved as .psp. I needed the files in CMYK for the printers, and exported the images as tif, cmyk, uncompressed. When the images were posted for my review/proof and ok, they were all reversed (mirrored). I called them and they said the images I uploaded were like that, even though in PSP in the "open file" window the preview image looks correct.
Any ideas on how/why this happened and how I can fix the problem?
Thanks, Diana

Re: exporting images in cmyk
Hmm, over 30 views but no one has an idea why this would have happened? I forgot to add that I did contact the printer for their preference of cmyk profile and they suggested USWebcoated SWOP, and I did set that profile in my preferences before I created the files. Really hoping someone, anyone has a clue as to what could have happened.

Re: exporting images in cmyk
Diana,
I did a test.
The file opened in CorelX3 OK.
I opened it ok with Corel Painter Essentials4.
I opened ok using Windows Vista Paint program.
I can print it locally on HP Laserjet (black and white) in grayscale or CMYK separation without it being mirrored.
But, if I opened the filename (right clicked it) in Corel Instand Viewer it is reversed (left/right), mirrored.
Also, IrFAN Viewer opened it mirored.
The GIMP showed a "flip" error and then opened it mirrored.
So, it looks like it is being saved horizontally"flipped"?
Maybe this will work:
In your X2, open your file then do Image, Mirror, then save your work .. then printer may have, now, what you want!

Re: exporting images in cmyk
Thanks for the feedback and test Vaughan. That's what I was thinking of doing, just flipping it before I save the file. I'm not opposed to dealing with a "work around" but it still seems very weird to me why this is happening in the first place. Is this a bug in the PSP function for exporting tif files in cmyk? I would have thought this would have come up for someone else?
