Saving clips

Post by Don1 »

I am using Videostudio Pro X3 and running it on a Win 7 machine. the program is installed properly and seems to work well. My question is this:

After creating and saving a clip (i took a 30 min video and broke it down into 5 clips) how do i save it so it can be viewed using Win Media Player or even exported to Youtube. It seems that when i save the clips it saves as a .vsp file. Also when i finsihed creating the clips i cant just upload that clip straight to youtube (or facebook, etc). In fact, when i do Share and upload to Youtube it opens up my files and the saved clip of course doesnt show up since its saved as .vsp.

I aplogize for my ignorance, but please help.

I don't have X3 but if it's like the older versions, click the Share tab and you'll be able save your edited video in the format of your choice. (If X3 is different, I'm sure someone will jump-in shortly with the correct answer ;) )

FYI - The VSP file doesn't contain any video. It's a "set of instructions" for your project that tell Video Studio what edits to make when you render (create an edited output file).

You can save each 'CLIP' as a video file under the SHARE option with X3.

sorry, but once i have saved a clip when i click on Share my saved clip isnt available to be uploaded to Youtube. When i am within Share and i click on Upload to Youtube only the 'browse for a file to upload' option is available.

in fact though the file clearly shows that it is an mp4 when its saved when i then attempt to upload it in to Youtube (using browse for file option - all formats) the file isnt found.. when i change the format to 'All Files' - my saved file is found but i get this error message: "Unable to open file [C:\users\.....\May182010Test.vsp] File format mismatch".

I know i may be missing something pretty simple but please bear with me the absence of a pdf manual was really a mistake by Corel.

please advise. thank you

Don

You need to save/export video file as MP4, not each VS project.

You can save each PROJECT if you need to edit later.
