The easiest way to accomplish this is with the keyframing of the effect. Now assuming that you're placing your photos on the Main video track, and applying the Pan/Zoom found on the Photo tab, first select a preset that closely fits the type of pan/zoom you're after. Next click the Customize button. In the timeline you will see red diamonds at the start and end, they will be red when they are selected. Those are the keyframes. What you're after is simple and fast..
Lets assume that you are wanting to start with 100% zoom ratio, so make sure you have the first keyframe selected, then in the Options tab below, set the Zoom ratio slider or numeric box to 100. Next in the Anchor, which are those boxes to the left of the zoom ratio and transparency, click on the center box. This will anchor it to the center. Now I want you to look at the numbers on the timeline, those coincide with that of your clip duration. So if your clip is 10 secs long, the far right hash-mark would represent 10. Also look at the numbers displayed beneath the lower-left corner of the right preview pane. That shows you the current time in your timeline. So watching that, move the playhead along the timeline until you reach 6 secs (00:00:06:00). Now right-click on the timeline and select Insert. This will add a keyframe to your timeline. Next go back to the Zoom ratio and set it to the ratio you want. Then move the box in the left preview pane to the area you want to show in your zoom. This can be tricky the start and end keyframes are in close proximity to each other. You can also grab the yellow corner handles in the left-pane and drag them inward to resize. Now right-click on your added keyframe, and select Copy. Now go to the last keyframe, select it, right-click on it and select Paste. Done...
