Spot blurring possible?

Post by aljimenez »

I am not sure what it's called when one wants to blur a small portion of a video, as seen in TV. Recently we had grands over and there was a massive rain storm and it was warm. The two young boys took their clothes off and went into the rain. I'd like to blur their personal parts in the video. I have tried this with a blurring mask and chroma on track 2, but I had to make lots of separate pieces to follow the boys running around. Lots of work, and I wonder if this is the best one can do with VS? Has anyone tried doing this, or knows of some easier way to do this than with Copy and Paste the blurring track 2 pieces to simulate the movement of the blur? BTW, the copy feature of the current version of X3 made this easier than before... Al

New Blue FX has a filter that will do just what you're wanting to do. It is called Pixelator, and is part of the Video Essentials package.

Yes it is one that you need to purchase. Clicking on the Do More and scrolling to the right will reveal one promotion offer by New Blue FX. They are providing a special offer for VS users, at $79 (US) it's really not that expensive..

I no longer have the Get More filter, it was included with the original download, and may be a left-over from beta-testing. I've reinstalled my filters so many times since then, and it was not included with them. It's not that I don't have it, it's just been named something else now..

This is NOT any special offer. Anyone can go to New Blue FX website and get this price. I have posted this in another thread. It is deceitful to promote "a special deal" for Corel users when it is not! Al

The spot filter still has to be moved around to work?

The pixelator FX filter is in a library called "New Blue Video Essentials"
As stated in another thread I have not purchased ANY New Blue Filters, to me they are too expensive, however I am grateful that Corel have managed to arrive at some form of marketing Deal with New Blue so that some of those filters are included with VideoStudio.
