Problem with MP3 files

Post by webpdq »

I purchased video studio pro x3 and it came with dvd factory pro 2010 which opens when you click Share > create disk
It opened OK but I wanted to change the soundtrack. I clicked on add more music and it took me to a navigation tree of my computer but did not show any music except for one clip that was sitting on my desktop. After hours of frustration, I called Tech support. It is a known glitch that sometimes happens. He walked me through a regedit and viola, I can now see my music folders. Unfortunately, most of my music is in mp3 format and none of them are displayed. It shows wav files and au files but no mp3 files. I am running win 7. I can see and use mp3s in the editor, just not in the dvd factory.

Is there some other tweak that I can do to get dvd factory pro on be able to use mp3s?

Thanks

I split your post from the thread where you posted it, as your problem seems to deal specifically with mp3 file problems.

I'm not sure why you're not able to use mp3 files, but with DVD Factory, it is not surprising. It's been awhile since I've attempted anything with it, so I fired it up so I could trouble shoot your problem. What I found is that it is crashing constantly on both my computers. I can however add or use mp3 files.

I will recommend that you ignore, forget about using DVD Factory 2010. If you are using a purchased and registered version of VS X3, after 3 days a link will appear in the DO MORE tab to download DVD MovieFactory 7SE. This is a much more stable program, is much easier to use, especially if your familiar with the previous versions of VS's burn module.

Re: Problem with MP3 files, now audio synch problem

Thanks. I got that impression (that dvd factory 2010 was bad) from one person on the Tech line. The other tech person implied I was a little stupid.

Should I post this somewhere else? The reason I posted to dvd factory was that I could not find the answer about it when I searched and I thought if someone else was having problems with it, it might help them to know that there was a registry fix.

I did get dvd factory 7se and installed it. I created a movie using Pro x3. The source was hd. I rendered it and it created two mpg files. I opened moviefactory 7se, inserted the clips and played the project via preview. It looked great. I burned it, checked the dvd and there is a terrible audio synch delay. I then tried burning it using pro x2... same problem. I then tried using dvd factory 2010, same problem. It always looks great in preview, but out of synch audio after burning.

I have never had this problem before and I have burned hundreds of dvd using one video studio.

One of the major reasons for out of synch audio is a corrupt source file.
Go back to VidoeStudio X3 and render the video again but turn OFF smart render, in most circumstances this will cure the out of synch audio.
