Paint Shop Pro X2 install error 1904 and organizer problem
Gives me this error "Product: Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 -- Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Corel\PSPThumbShellExt\PSPThumbShellExt.dll failed to register. HRESULT -1073741819. Contact your support personnel." If i select skip the install will continue. Also why doesn't the organizer remember the folders that i have added there? Everytime start the program i have to add the folders back.

Have you tried installing it as Administrator to see if that makes any difference?

Try registering the dll manually. Please Click Here
If you have the RUN option enabled in Windows 7 then you would enter in the RUN box
REGSVR32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Corel\PSPThumbShellExt\PSPThumbShellExt.dll"
You can also use this tool

Now i know why the organizer doesn't remember the added folders, It doesn't create LastDBTreeSel.PspCache file, is there a way to fix this? Does the atioglxx.dll error have something to do with this?

Re: Paint Shop Pro X2 install error 1904 and organizer probl
I got rid off the atioglxx.dll error, i downloaded the newest ati display driver 10.4 and copy new atioglxx.dll over the old one. I can't install the whole display driver because the install manager wont find display card. Now Paint Shop Pro organizer does make the LastDBTreeSel.PspCache file but it still does not remember the added folders.

You may find that you have downloaded drivers for a Graphic card When you wanted a Mobile Version that uses the On board chip

I found newest 10.4 mobility driver that installed just fine. Organizer still wont remember the added folders and now it doesn't create the LastDBTreeSel.PspCache file again. No errors in windows logs

Try checking (if not checked)
'keep last view' in General Program Preferences --->default launch workspace.

Thats because I was Thinking X3. Now I know X2 and X3 share Database but Looking in my X" locations Shows it uses Appdat\Temp where as X3 uses appdate\corel where the last db treeset is but there is not One in the X2 temp but I will search x2 folders. Did you trial x3 at any time/

Interesting I have found that Whichever is last to close X3 Organiser or X2 browser set's the last folder opened in the same LastDbTreesel.psp Cache.
None of which helps In the browser not remembering you added Folders

Re: Paint Shop Pro X2 install error 1904 and organizer probl
Sorry to get to this rather late, but it seems to me that the culprit will be some security software that is either preventing PSP writing to the application's user data folder, or is deleting data from there. It could be a registry cleaner, file overwrite protection or some sort of history or evidence deleter that is designed to clean up cache files to prevent someone being able to see what you've been doing recently.
If it is a registry cleaner, uninstall it... you don't need to clean your registry.
Otherwise look through the options on antivirus, malware or privacy software to try and identify the setting that could cause the problem.

I don't have any realtime spyware or registry protection software, only antivir free version virus software and Outpost firewall. I have tried to run psp with antivir disabled no help.
