MPG Exported from VS3 Freezes

Post by johko »

I am using files from a Canon HF200 camcorder. I import the files in to VS Pro X3 and create smarty proxy files.

I edit everything and play it back inside VS3. Everything looks fine.

When I export to HDV 1080i 60i for PC, I will get certain parts of the MPG that will freeze. I have to go back in to VS3 and delete the offending clips (there are usually multiple ones) until I get them all and get a clean export.

Now the strange thing I just noticed today, is that I used two clips in one video and had a clean export. I used those two same clips today in another video and they froze in the MPG.

Anyone having similar issues or suggestions on how to fix this? At first I thought there might be something wrong with the original MTS files, but after today having clips that worked in one video and not another, I'm confused. In the video that worked, I used color correction and the light attribute. On the video that did not work with the same clips I did not alter the clip at all.

Ok, so the attributes got me thinking.

So I reset my library. Imported all my clips again. Deleted the smart proxy files and created new ones. Created virtually the same video with the same clips, including the ones that caused freezing. Exported. Froze in the same place on the second clip.

I went back in and added color correction to the offending clip and exported. Bingo, that clip didn't freeze, but the others still did. So I applied color correction to all the clips. Nothing frooze. Bug?
