I have a problem while loading MSP 6.5 and recently I also purchased the MSP 7 with the hope that this newer version may work, but i got the same problem.
The program stops loading while creating the sound libraries, almost to the end (85% )of the load of the program, I repeat this, is when loading the program, I tried installing onto another of my computers where I used to have the program before but with the same results, now I did loaded MSP 7 and even deleted MSP6.5 but have the same problem, after a few seconds the program stops responding and I need to do the End Task procedure. hope some one can help .
Thank You.
XP, Intel, core2 6600, 2GB Ram,HD1-120 GB C=42gb D=70GB, F=170GB, Nvidia GEForce, 8600 GT 1024 MB, MB Integrated Audio
Also I did leave the computer on after loading the program for more than 24 hours, and when returned screen said "program not responding" and needed to end the procedure via task manager again.
I'll greatly thank you all for any help.

The latest version of MediaStudio was 8 not 7 and development of it ceased in June 2008.JoeGruiz wrote:I have a problem while loading MSP 6.5 and recently I also purchased the MSP 7 with the hope that this newer version may work, but i got the same problem.

Re: Media Studio Pro 6.5 and 7 failure to load
Hi Thank You for your answer, but the problem is... that i was working with MSP ver 6.5 all the time since I purchased it for the first time, and after certain date stop to work, with the resulting message as described before, that is my original ver. 6.5 upgraded from ver. 6 much time before to start to fail, and on the other hand, yes, probably I got ripped with ver 7 from ebay, they stated that it was a not registered disk but who knows ? the disk seems to be original and it came with the registration code that looks original from Ulead.
How it's that my ver. 6.5 does not work in my original setup under win xp as before ? and in the same computer ?
any idea ?

Re: Media Studio Pro 6.5 and 7 failure to load
You have a dodgy DirectX filter or codec on your PC

Re: Media Studio Pro 6.5 and 7 failure to load
You can at least rule out if it is DirectX by downloading and installing the latest version.
Re: Media Studio Pro 6.5 and 7 failure to load
I don't do much "creative" editing now, so my knowledge is a bit rusty. As I recall, DirectX filters can be added by software developers to add features to their software. An example might be a routine to distort sound so that when a game character goes underwater, it sounds realistic; or one which produces a heat haze.
In my case, it turned out to be a bunch of stuff that was installed alongside VirtualDub
