have received some clips from a video cam - they are mpeg 4 format - I can see them (using quicktime) but am unable to upload them into prox to edit. I thought they were compatible but says cannot read format any help?

You would possibly get more assistance if you didn't use myterious contractions... I am assuming -- after some thought -- that 'prox' and 'prox3' are really Video Studio X3 Pro... If so, the usual contraction used here is X3 or VS X3...
X3 in any case has difficulty "seeing" .mov files -- and I am again assuming that that is what your video is. Where did it come from? Often it is from a digital still camera which takes video. We generally recommend in that case to convert the video into a format the X3 can see by using a conversion program such as the free SUPER...
