Problem
Okay, I downloaded and installed the KPT filters (automatically) and they worked. Went for a walk, took a few snaps and came home. Went to open them in PSP X3 and it didn't open. Oooooppppps. Nothing I tried worked to open PSPX3, although Windows said it was running the program (in task manager.) I uninstalled the KPT and voila....it opened. Soooo, anyone else have this problem with the KPT filters? Please note (BEFORE I get yelled at for not having my profile filled out) 1) I am not asking for a solution (yet) just, is anyone else having this problem? is my question. 2) I looked at my profile and I have no idea what the answers are (motherboard.... isn't Mother a character in "The Avengers"????) and a link to something, I know not what. I suppose I will take an hour or two to figure out my configuration if I have to ask for help to make KPT work, but, right now I am just curious about others having a problem.... please don't put a "click here" response in.

Re: Problem
That link you found is to a piece of software that will give you all of the answers you need to fill out your profile if you don't know the answers yourself. They try to make the process very simple and your profile helps others answer you better.
To answer your preliminary question, no I have not had these problems since installing the KPT filters. Have you tried re-installing the filters?

Re: Problem
Where do you get the KPT plug-ins from? I don't recall getting an option to download them when I installed X3.

Re: Problem
You can either click on the Do More... option in the effects menu or you can open up the Corel Guide (You can find it in the help menu or The orange button next to our Organizer and ExpressLab buttons) and select Do More from the dialog box that pops up. It'll give you a download link.

Re: Problem
Levi,
To include responses from the other post about these filters (the Do-more post.) I couldn't find them because they were not in the Corel download file....there are apparently two....one was in a folder labeled "prefetch data" and the other somewhere in my documents and settings....which was why I couldn't locate them without a name. I did reload the filters and was able to reproduce the problem two times out of about 25 tries. What seemed to happen was that once in a while if I opened the filter, didn't apply it, clicked the x and left the picture open, but closed PSPX3, the program continued to run (at least it showed up in Task Manager...in the process list.) If I applied the effect, closed the pic before I closed PSP there were no problems. In fact about 10 times, I was able to not apply the effect, leave the picture open and close PSP with no problem. But twice, it hung. Hmmmm, well, nothing I am going to worry about at length. As usual, thanks for you knowledgeable responses!!

Re: Problem
Managed to download them and install OK. Not noticed any issues in a quick two minute playaround but will have another hack later. What was the process that was left open called?

Re: Problem
Hmmmm, I seem to remember posting a reply, but apparently it did not show up. Anyway, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.exe was the name. I've tried about 10 more times the process: open picture, open EFX, mess around, close EFX without applying, close PSP without closing the pic. That produced a total of about 3-4 hang-ups (out of 20-30 tries.) But in the last 3 days or so, everything has worked fine.

Re: Problem
I've tried to install this several times and I keep getting a error "path to language folder could not be resloved". I am running Windows 7.
