Hello everyone:
Been really busy for a while now and only just got a chance to get to the boards.
The boards look great!!

So should I stay with X2 or move over to X3???

I think the move to X3 is worthwhile. One thing to watch out for though is that it has a completely revamped authoring stage that proved so unpopular with our members that Corel are giving a free copy of MovieFactory 7SE to anyone who purchases or has purchased VSX3.
Use VSX3 for editing
MF7SE for authoring.

Glad you like the new Web Board.

I thought in the past that any product with the SE at the end was just a
unlimited trial version without all the stuff that comes with the
full version.....Has that changed with MF7se????

VideoStudio up to and including X2 (12) had a built in authoring stage
[Share] [Create Disc]

When X3 (13) was released Corel removed that built in authoring stage and replaced it with a stand alone authoring program called Factory. (Not MovieFactory).
Now when you go to the [Share] tab and select [Create Disc] you find that VideoStudio will close and "Factory" will open.
Unfortunately Factory was not performing as well as expected and our members encountered numerous problems with it.
Corel had to find a solution to this and so the decision was taken to provide any customers who had purchased VSX3, a copy of DVD MovieFactory 7 SE. The program checks to see if you already have (the more powerful) full version of MovieFactory 7 on your computer. If not then it provides you with a download link for the SE version. If you already have the full version then it does not provide you with that download link - doing so would in fact be detrimental to you by replacing the superior program with an inferior one.

MovieFactory 7 Pro was only released in a few areas of the world, mostly Australia, and so the bulk of our members will receive this download link.

True to an extent but I think you will find the new MF7SE does a really first class job. Huge improvement over what comes packaged with VS x3. Has all the features you would expect.

Of course the SE is a Special or Simplified Edition of the full blown program. In this case what Corel done, was strip away the "suite" part of DVD MF 7 Pro. So the launcher with all the extras, like burning a data disc, the annoying "data-add" utility, are not included. However the most important part used for authoring video DVDs, Blu-Ray, AVCHD, are there. This is still the core, the major part of DVD MF..

I'm both a new forum member and a new user for Video Pro X3 w/no video editing experience. I'm not a techie which is why I'm embarrassed to say I can't figure out how to post a new post.

HI aljretired,
Have a look round the Forum first. Go to the board index page here:
http://forum.corel.com/EN/index.php
You will see a list of Forums, starting with "Important Announcements" and "Popular Products". In the Popular Products the top one is Video Studio. This will be the main one for you I should think but take a bit of time to look at the others especially down at the bottom "Forum Tutorials" Lots of goodies in there.
Once you are in a Forum say Video Studio you can start a new topic by clicking the New Topic Button towards the top of the page. Before doing that however please use the Search facility as the chances are your question would have been asked before.
Finally don't be embarrassed because you are new to this subject. We all started knowing somewhere. This Forum is a wonderful place to learn and remember there is no such thing as a "Silly question". There are lots of silly answers. Please feel free to ask, there will always be someone who will help!
BTW Welcome to the Forum
