Good morning.

Here I explain the error that we're facing (in spanish).
http://www.imh.es/sarea/aupa-tux-es/cor ... -dmp-file/

I'll try to explain it in english:

Working in a windows XP . Our original files are MTS files. And we want to export the project in :

Create Video File: MPEG-4:MPEG-4 HD template.

Some files could be transformed without problem, but others is impossible. We always get this error

The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning.
Please contact Corel Technical Support and send the dump file for analysis

C:\Doc.. \Usuario\….\Temp\vstudio_1.6.0.272_20100308_015620.DMP

We have made a lot of tests. The hard disk is ok, the memory is ok. We've testint in other pc, with the same results. Sometimes it fails (a lot of times) , others OK..

Is there some problem in converting from MTS to MP4?

Ahh.. we've installed DirectX last updates. And also a corel video studio pro x3 patch (the program itself says there's an update and suggestes to install it).

In corel's database, there's no patch for Video Studio Pro X3: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 2796559943 ??

Thanks in advance. I'm wasting a lot of hours .. ;(

Hi,

I am sure this has been answered before?

MTS files are MPG4 (highly compressed) ?

If so you will better off converting them to MPG2 format prior to editing.

Thank you for your answer.. but..
That's not a good solution, as far as I think, no? Ufff.. we bought this product to be able to work directly with the MTS files..

Why some videos goes perfect, and anothers don't?

corel Video Studio X3:
Enhanced! Import from HDV™, AVCHD, Blu-ray Disc™ and JVC® HD camcorders (as they see in the product characteristics)

Then, it's supposed to be able to edit AVCHD format (MTS in my camcorder) without problem. That's why we upgraded from Ulead Video Studio 11 to Corel Video Studio X3.

We tested the product before we upgraded without problems and now.. it's failing sometimes.. There must be another answer, otherwise Corel Video Studio X3 is not valid to be used with AVCHD.. not?

Thank you..

Normally, an AVCHD camera will come with some software made by the manufacturer -- at least that happens with Sony and Panasonic camcorders. I am not sure about others. So normally I recommend you first import the video from your camcorder to your computer hard drive using that software. That usually converts the AVCHD native .mts to AVCHD m.2ts (which is still the same mpeg-4 and high quality, same as the original). But Video Studio seems to be happier dealing with .m2ts that native .mts.

Well... it's true that it comes with a software.
The strange thing is that some videos OK and others not?

I'll give this a try.. and we'll tell.. ;)

Thanks in advance and have a nice week-end

I'm facing a problem with this.

The camcorder came with HD Writer 1.0, and as we didn't use it, we have loose the CD.. ;(

Now I'm trying to get the same version (1.0) , but there's no way.

I've tested with HD Writer 2.5, but this version doesn't let me choose the Hard disk of the camcorder. It sees ok the SD disk, but not the Hard Disk.. ;(

Can you help me in some way?

Thanks in advance

You don't say the make and model of your camorder but if you go on to the manufacturers website have a look for software specific to your camera.

I'm sorry; I've only got the new one. The reason I do post here is that I also have the same kind of problems with my .mts files and want to test like mister Ken Berry suggest and I like to give you a handout to use your newer version of the software. I own a Panasonic HDC-SD700 camera and bought Videostudio X3 because it can import Dolby 5.1sound from the camera. :D

I prefer newer versions of software. When you use HD Writer 2.5, you automatically get .m2ts files imported on your disk. You can copy your .mts files back to a SD-card (notice using the original directory structure!) and re-import them with HD Writer. After that you can use .m2ts files directly in Videostudio. If .m2ts files are better indeed to VSX3 HD Writer will be my standard import tool. Unfortunately I don't have time for testing the next few days.

I hope these files will work, then I also can start editing my video's ... success!
