I have tried all of the templates in the format "AVI" and I have tried creating a custom template also, and nothing happened. :cry:

Where are you out putting your preview to? External monitor? Is it switched on? How do you expect any help if you do not give give any particulars. Just stating "nothing happens" is not giving us much to work with LOL

1. How much free space is on your C: drive?

2. Do you have a separate video drive for your sources, captures and rendering?

3. Have you changed the MSPro preferences to move the temporary and preview files to a folder on the separate video drive?

Getting the drift? Temporary and preview files can fill up the C: drive, choking off room for the swapfile to expand if necessary. This can cause out of memory errors; or more precisely out of virtual memory.

This can cause all manner of symptoms ranging from slowdowns and lockups to the editor just shuttng down and exiting.

I have the same problem. It has something to do with the Lame encoder. Everytime you try to change anything in the avi the program locks up. I ahve tried allot but havn't found anything to work yet.

Well, I think i have fixed it... I just downloaded the newest version of VFW drivers for windows xp, and probably, I removed some LAME audio codecs.

It is a Panasonic camcorder. Here's the M$ Knowledge Base article;

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;810032

You might want to go here to search for problems with any particular camcorders or devices in WinXP;

http://support.microsoft.com/winxp

And here's a search I did regarding general video capture problems;

http://search.microsoft.com/search/resu ... re+problem
