Relinking to Proxy files

Post by Bruceqld »

Hi Everyone.
In a recent attempt to solve the vanishing music track 2 problem I have reinstalled VS X3 (If you are having the same problem don't bother - it didn't help.) I have reloaded a rather large project, however the mts clips are no longer linked to their proxy files for editing. I have specified the previous location of the proxy files in my preferences but they don't show up in Proxy file manager when the project is opened. Is there a way to relink to these proxys or do I have to recreate them all. To be clear, I don't wish to relink the project file - the source files remain unchanged, so file - relink is of no use.

Thanks for your time and help!

Bruce.

Thanks Steve.

Ken's solution is a great idea but unfortunately of no use unless you implement it from the start. I am trying to re link proxies already created by VS.

I had done a search myself and none of the other references offer a solution to relinking proxies - so I'm guessing it can't be done. No big deal - creating new proxies gives my computer something to do overnight:).
