Hi All,
I'm brand new to Video Studio and I'm sure what I'm trying to do is very simple and I'll look like a bit silly for asking, but I can't work out how to do this despite watching the tutorials etc.
Basically I have a video clip that already has some writing on it (it's a product demo) and all I want to do is add a title screen to the demo. I just want to add the title screen, have that play for a few seconds by itself and THEN have the video clip start.
I can see how you add the title screen easily enough, but can't see how I can position the video clip on the timeline to start after the title sequence. The reason for this, is that I don't want writing on top of writing... since both contain text and I need both bits of copy.
I have tried to drag the video clip to the point on the timeline when the title finishes, but you can't move the video clip along the timeline...
Apologies if this is really basic, but I can't seem to see how to do it.
Many Thannks for Reading.
Frank

Hi Frank
Welcome to the forum
The library contains a page of Colour Clips.
Drag one of these to the beginning of the top timeline.
It will act as a backdrop for your text.
You can change the duration by altering the digital clock or dragging the yellow trim bars at the end of the clip.
Set the default duration from Preferences
Add a cross fade transition.
You could of course use a still image if you wished.
Hope this Helps

just to add to Trevors reply - although the video clip will be hard against the left end of the timeline when you drag a colour clip down to the left end of the timeline the video will automatically slide to the right to accomodate it - you do not have to make a space for it first (in fact as you have found out you can't).
Also as he says you could use a still image - maybe a company logo behind your new title. ??

Hi Trevor,
I've just seen your response. I tried it out first thing this morning and it worked brilliantly!!
Thank you so, so much for your reply. I knew this had to be simple, but it was driving me crazy!
All the best and thanks again.

The easiest way to add that initial color clip is to change to storyboard view.
