can you open a transparent image in photo impact

hi all i have looked all over for the answer but with no luck i am trying to open something which is made in psp or any other graphic program in photo impact which has a transparent background but it always fills the transparent parts in white .ie i make a text graphic in psp on a transparent bg then when i save it and open it in photoimpact to add some animation it opens with a white background which ruins any effect i want to add...so is there anyway to open a image without it filling all areas in white what are ment to be transparent

Hi,

Some file formats offer the ability to have *transparency* in them. Some of them are GIF, PNG, PSD (Photoshop file), and some others.

If you save the file in a common format - I strongly recommend PNG - Portable Networks Graphic - it will be transparent in Photoimpact.

GIF is a good web format because it's low size, but it only has 256 colors.

One of the best "alpha channel" formats (i.e. one that holds transparency so it's not square) is TGA
