Such a long time to load

Post by stelch »

I have VideoStudio Pro x3 and it takes ages to open the program. Is this normal with x3? I have a Pentium quad xp machine.

What is ages? A minute? 5 minutes? 30 minutes?

I've never timed it, but I'm sure mine takes less than a minute to load.

It takes 2 minutes and 5 seconds! I think it's too long.

Yes, that's far too long... even with a Pentium 'quad' (I assume you mean a Pentium 4...) X3 certainly takes a little longer to open than previous versions on my computers, but it takes roughly 7 seconds to get the opening screen on my core 2 duo 2.0 GHz and about 5 seconds on my quad...

Well Ken, what I did is to uninstall VSX3 and reinstalled it again and now it takes about 6-8 seconds to get to the opening screen and then to go to the "Advance Edit" it takes about 30-35 seconds.

Well, on the Core 2 Duo which I am using now, it takes -- first time after boot -- 15 seconds for the main Editor to come up after the splash screen (which I think is still far too long). But after the computer has booted, and I start X3 for a second or third (or more) time, it takes 8 - 10 seconds after the splash screen... which is also possibly too long. But it is proportionally quicker on the Quad...

Ken

My PC is Inter Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz so why then it takes 30-35 sec to load the main editor?

This may not apply to you, but I had a problem some time ago with VS10+ starting to take ages to load (>> 1 min). After I had removed scads and scads of files( >100) from my libraries it started up normally. Evidently loading the details (thumbnails?) of all the files was taking up the time. Is there any way of exporting, saving and subsequently importing libraries?
