Adding new text box

Post by Wizard488 »

I'm using the latest version of Moviefactory 7 Pro.

I had Version 6. However, even in this new version, I can not figure out how to add another text box to a DVD menu. (I couldn't either in Version 6.)

The already text box always links to the chapter menu. I would like to add another text box that can say "Play All" or "Play Movie" And either have the text itself be a 'button' or jusr use the typical play button that is already on the menu. Is this doable? Thanks. :)

Are you using a Text menu, Thumbnail or Smartscene? At any rate you can not add another text box. You can go to the edit tab, then down towards the bottom, select the customize button, and then Navigation to add various buttons, one being the typical DVD play (arrow) button. If you're just wanting the "Play all" button, you can hide the others.

Steve's tutorial on this requires PhotoImpact. Do you by chance have PhotoImpact?

Adding a new text box is not doable? That's a feature that should be put in place! Sadly, I do not have photoimpact. Shoot.

Is that the only solution? I mean, it's no big deal, but some of the people I have made DVDS for can't figure out how to just play the film, so I was hoping to find a fix.

Just a thought, Is there anyone who would be willing to make me Name Only Buttons? In addition to a "Play Film" button, I'd like a "Play All" button as well. And of course the "PREV" and "NEXT". Thank you. It'd be a great help to me. :)

Well, I guess those will work fine. But, I sure wish I had a "Play Film" and "Play All" button.

I realise that this is an old thread but I thought it still might be useful to add my contribution.
I am fairly new to MF7 and "enjoyed" the same frustration of not being able to add a "Play All" or any other text to a menu.
Search brought me to this thread & prompted me to attempt to solve the problem.
Here is my solution:-
Open any photo editing software, New project, White Background, Text button. Type "Play All".
Adjust Font, colour as you wish. Crop around text and save as jpeg in a pre-arranged folder.
Now when in the Menu page of MF7 hit the "Add Decoration" button and locate your file. Add it, move & resize and there you are- job done.
This simple workaround can be extended to any text you wish to add.
