We need more info to be able to help. Please read the following and provide the requested info: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8959
Where did the clips come from? Why are you saving them as .mov files?
I realize the codec pack was installed after your problem started, but I would remove it, as the can cause more harm than good.

Re: VS Pro X3 "file format mismatch"
Dear Black Lab! ( i have a blond )
...the clips i recorded myself at various gigs that i have been to... the camera, Panasonic TZ7, records in .MOV by default!
...before i bought the Corel software i used to convert then process in Windows Movie Maker... one of the reasons i switched to VS Pro3 was to avoid doing that and up until 3 days a go it was`nt a problem.. this software has been great and a joy to use up until then... why the change hopefuly we can find out... all my .MOV files play quite happily in Realplayer or Quicktime player they just wont import into VS Pro3 now.. where they did so without any problem before what ever changed?!?
...do you need any more info` than that?
...if a file had been corrupted surely the un install and re install should have fixed that.... but it has made no difference... should i do a total new reformat?
...thanks for your time and patience... i`m new to this video stuff!

Something on your computer has changed since the last time it worked.
You need to track down what that was.
If it only started fairly recently you might be able to use Windows Restore and set the machine back to the way it was just before you had this problem. As for Windows Updates - these can have an adverse effect on your computer!
Here is an example

..well i think i have found out what it is!... why and how this happened is open to opinion... when you click the import video icon a browse video box opens.. then you click on the drop down list of file types or formats... ( *.mov, *.qt) is missing from the list!!!!sjj1805 wrote:Something on your computer has changed since the last time it worked.

...hmmmm!... but how did that vanish i wonder!?... and how do i get it back!?
...already un installed and re installed the software!...will try again!... let you know what happens!

Re: VS Pro X3 "file format mismatch"
Try removing and re-installing Quicktime Player, as a standalone install from the Apple website, i had the same problems and it solved it for me.
Also i had VideostudioX2 crashing on me, using .MOV files from my HD camcorder during rendering, this problem was also solved.
I put it down to the latest Apple update not installing cleanly using their Apple Software Update utility. It updated Quicktime recently along with Itunes.

Re: VS Pro X3 "file format mismatch"
Now that you have a "clean machine" I would strongly suggest you use a hard drive imaging utility such as Norton Ghost.
What this does is takes a snapshot of your hard drive and it can be saved on several different ways.
1. Another Hard Drive - one of those external USB drives is quite useful for this.
2. Split up into several small files and saved onto Disc (CD/DVD)
Next time your computer packs up you can be back up and running with a completely re-installed system complete with all of your software intact - Microsoft Office, Email settings, Video Programs etc. in less than a hour - the exact time will depend upon how large your hard drive is. It only saves the used part not the unused part, so if you have a 250GB hard drive with 100GB free space it only saves the 150GB used space.
It is a LOT quicker than
Format the drive
Install Windows
Install Drivers
Install Microsoft Office
Install VideoStudio
Install this
install that
etc.
